The Hamilton Island bushwalk even non-hikers will love Posted by Hamilton Island - 1 September 2017 Did you know that around 70% of Hamilton Island is made up of pristine undeveloped bushland? Well, if this wasn’t reason enough for you to pack your walking shoes and get outdoors exploring when you visit, we’ve just made it even easier to discover Hamilton Island’s natural beauty. The walk takes you a million miles from urban life. Image by Andrew Caitens Joining forces with Dirt Art, one of Australia’s leading trail building companies, we have created an extension to our existing paths. The new trail is an achievable distance of 5.5km and features gentle gradients for a free-flowing walking experience. Butterflies and other native fauna can be spotted along the walk. Image by @allastalladventures Guests can now walk to the iconic South-East Head of the island with ease. This new trail flows with the natural surrounds and molds to the existing lay of the land, to be one with nature. It’s a wonderful opportunity for guests of all fitness levels to see a completely different side of Hamilton Island. The new path gives a spectacular view out to the other Whitsunday Islands. Image by @allastalladventures The trail offers stunning vistas over the Whitsundays and guests who have walked it have expressed their delight at feeling completely immersed in the Whitsundays landscape. The fresh air, lush tropical bushland, native wildlife and twinkle of azure waters all make for a walk to remember. There’s even some picnic tables along the way, so you can pause to stop and enjoy the views for just that little bit longer. And don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about those who might want to push themselves a little bit harder and get the endorphins pumping. A fantastic aspect of this trail is that it connects with the existing Passage Peak loop which can be added to your circuit to burn and offset even more of those holiday calories. Looking out over Passage Peak… for those wanting more of a challenge the climb to the top is a must. Image by @andreakristin88 So, who’s packing some hiking shoes next time they visit?
