Restaurants, buggies and activities are in high demand so it's important to plan and book ahead to avoid disappointment. 

Restaurants
We strongly advise guests to pre-book their dining arrangements. To make a reservation you can Book a Restaurant Online, or explore the options on our Food & Wine page. Restaurant opening times may vary slightly depending on the week that you visit, please check our Weekly Restaurant/Café/Bar Schedule, or the Hamilton Island App.

Tours and Activities

Buggies
Buggies are currently in high demand, please click here to pre-book your buggy today prior to your arrival. (Subject to availability)
Hamilton Island also offers a complimentary Shuttle service. Simply hop on or off at any of the designated stops, and use the service as much or as little as you like.


Christmas Day - Restrictions to Alcohol Sales

In line with Queensland Liquor Laws, guests will only be able to purchase alcohol when dining in an outlet for a sit-down meal on Christmas Day. No take-away alcohol sales will be permitted, including bars and other outlets where the primary purpose is to serve alcohol with no substantial meal. Guests may be offered a beverage by staff in the bar area if they are waiting for their table and must finish beverages within an hour of completion of the served meal.
 
The Marina Tavern’s top level will be closed from 12am Christmas Day and will re-open on Boxing Day, 26th December 2024.


Kids Stay & Eat Free

Please note there have been some changes to the Kids Eat Free offer. As part of this great offer, any children up to 12 years can eat free in Pool Terrace or Sails when dining with their parents and choosing from the kids' menu.

Cashless Payments and 1.25% Debit and Credit Card Surcharge

Hamilton Island operates a cashless environment and remains committed to providing convenient and secure payment options for our guests while ensuring operational efficiency within the constraints of the island. 

For guests preferring cash transactions, pre-paid or top-up Mastercards are available at the Australia Post office on Hamilton Island’s Front Street. Cash deposits and withdrawals are facilitated through the Bank@Post service. 

Fee-free card payments can be made via EFTPOS (you must click on the ‘cheque’ or ‘savings’ option at the terminal). A 1.25% surcharge applies only to credit and 'tap and go' transactions. 


Entertaining in a Hamilton Island Holiday Home

Please note that Hamilton Island Holiday homes are to be used for holiday letting purposes only: weddings, parties or large gatherings are not permitted. Non-compliance with this policy may result in unregistered and registered guests being evicted from the property and fees may apply. Island Works

The following island works have been confirmed to address maintenance requirements and product refurbishment.

  • Palm Bungalow Works, January 2025 - March 2025 - To ensure the continued upkeep of the island, landscaping works have been scheduled from 10 January to 15 March 2025. Some of these works are in proximity to the Palm Bungalows and as a result there may be some minor noise on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasionally on Saturdays. The works have been planned and scheduled to minimize inconvenience to our valued guests.
  • Reef View Hotel Works, 3 March - 13 December 2025 - Upgrades to the balcony balustrades at the Reef View Hotel are planned. There may be some intermittent construction noise on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays between the hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Your well-being and safety are of utmost importance to us during your stay on Hamilton Island. We have a number of Stay Well measures to ensure a safe and secure environment for our guests, employees and the local community.

  • Allied Health Facility: Hamilton Island is equipped with an Allied Health facility, which provides a range of health support services. For more information about the health services provided please click here.
  • Hamilton Island Pharmacy: The Hamilton Island Pharmacy is open from 8.30am – 6.00pm daily, catering to all your pharmacy needs. You can view the pharmacy website here.
  • Ambulance: The Queensland Ambulance Service operates on Hamilton Island. In case of a medical emergency, please dial ‘000’.
