Five reasons your golfing game will thank you for teeing off at Hamilton Island Posted by Steven Sandilands - 5 April 2016 Starting golf at an early age has meant I’ve swung my golf clubs more times than I’ve had hot dinners. It also means I’ve been lucky enough to play golf internationally and across Australia on some amazing courses. But for me nothing can compare to playing golf on Hamilton Island, and here’s why: 1) You can play till your heart’s content. The golf course is for you, the guest. There are no members or weekly comps to work around and as such unlimited access is yours for the taking. So, whether you’re playing solo or with a group of friends, take the chance to see your golf game improve with this fantastic opportunity to get on the course numerous times. 2) 5 star service. From start to finish you’ll be treated like you’re a touring Pro. Arriving from the ferry (yep that’s right, this course is housed on a private island) you’ll have your own personal escort to the clubhouse. You’ll be given all the things necessary to make your game enjoyable, including fresh towels, chilled water for your carts and a complimentary course guide. The Hamilton Island Golf Club prides itself on their service and their seamless delivery will ensure the only thing you have to worry about is getting that ball down the fairway. 3) Speaking of feeling like a Pro… This course is going to make you feel like you’re competing in a major championship. One of the courses best assets is that no two rounds of golf are the same. The diverse weather conditions will provide you with a range of golfing experiences. One day you might be chasing a birdie and the next pushing yourself to get the ball in for par. Either way your golf game will thrive from the exposure. 4) Get ready to test yourself. The layout of this course provides you with some stunning holes all designed to provide you with an exciting challenge. The course, while not being overly long, still demands strategic thinking and precise ball striking in order to play your best round. 5) This is a bucket list golfing experience. I can safely say these are some of the most spectacular holes I’ve ever had the privilege to play. The finish of the course is a large part of its appeal. The last five holes require nerves of steel in order to come home strong and achieve a good round. The reward for taking on this challenge is the mesmerising views of the Whitsundays and the knowledge that you have just played a course like no other. If you’re ready for a fantastic challenge, keen to make improvements to your game and excited by the idea of playing on a course you’ll remember for the rest of your life, then Hamilton Island is for you.
