Things to be aware of when making a booking:

  • Casual Berthing: For overnight berths check-in is 11.00am and 3.30pm on the date of arrival. Check-out prior to 10.00am on the date of departure. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability and additional hourly charges apply. Casual Berthing is also available on an hourly rate depending on the size of your vessel. You can take the opportunity to reprovision, fill water tanks, dispose of waste (fees apply), have a meal or find out information for your next visit. All arriving vessels need to contact the Marina Office or make their booking at least 24hrs prior to arrival. Any vessels arriving without a booking are subject to availability and maybe refused entry. During high vessel traffic periods in the Whitsundays it is necessary to make arrangements in advance to secure a berth.
  • Long Term Berthing: Extended berthing is available on weekly, monthly, 6 monthly or annual basis.
  • Commercial Vessel Access: Commercial marine operators are unable to access the marina to pick up or drop off passengers. With prior approval and bookings, bareboat charter companies can conduct briefings and debreifings in the marina (fees apply).
  • Berthing Fees: Fees are charged in accordance to the vessel size, vessel type and berth size. All berthing fees are required to be paid in advance. Casual berthing fees will be collected by the marina concierge on the dock. Long-term visitors need to complete the berthing agreement and pay the required fees. Hamilton Island Marina accepts Visa/Master Card; American Express (1.25% card fee applies across all credit cards) or EFTPOS (no charges apply).

  • Insurance Requirements: All vessels within the Marina must have current public liability insurance against liability for any loss or damage to property and for the death or injury to any person caused by, through or in connection with the vessel for an insured amount of at least $10,000,000 and comprehensive insurance to the replacement value of the vessel which includes full salvage cost and environmental clean-up with an insurer approved by the Marina Manager. A copy of that insurance policy and annual renewal of that policy must be provided to the Marina office upon request.
  • Black Out Period: There is a black out period in August each year to enable us to host the Hamilton Island Race Week Event. Only competing registered vessels may remain in the marina during this time.
  • Electricity Consumption: Vessels using 32 Amp and higher are charged accordingly.
  • Mobile and Radar Safety: Mobile phone boosters and Radar must be turned off prior to entering the marina.
  • Pets: A temporary animal permit may be requested for pets (dogs and birds) to reside temporarily on a vessel berthed in the Hamilton Island Marina. Cats are not permitted on a vessel berthed in the Hamilton Island Marina. All applications for animal permits are to be submitted to Corporate Services.
